Château Saint-Maur is a “Cru Classé” winery, one of 14 wine estates in Provence
that were designated as such in July, 1955, over two decades before Côtes de
Provence was designated Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC, now called
Appellation d’Origine Protégée or simply AOP). The Château Saint
Maur was equipped with a brand new, high-tech wine storehouse situated
opposite the historical castle. For all cuvées, viticulture is “environmentally
friendly,” grapes are harvested at “phenolic maturity,” total destemming, direct
pressing under inert conditions, alcoholic fermentation in thermo-regulated
stainless steel tanks, gravity-fed, state-of-the-art, three-level winery.
Located in the heart of the Côtes de Provence AOP appellation just 40 kilometers
from the Mediterranean Sea, the Arnaude estate is spread over 30 hectares (75
acres), including 20 hectares (50 acres) of vineyards with grape varieties such as
Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, and Rolle. The
estate’s favorable microclimate, its surrounding hills, and the vineyard’s southern
exposure are all features that give the wines their incomparable bouquet! The
grapes are harvested manually using traditional techniques so that the best grapes
are selected. Château l’Arnaude uses both ancestral know-how and modern
technology in its pressing, fermentation, and final winemaking.
Created in 1932 with 112 associated producers, this cooperative winery with an indisputable local and international reputation has almost 200 members and a bottling capacity of 4 million bottles.
The vines, mainly located on the hillsides around the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, produce high quality and affordable AOP Côtes de Provence red, rosé, and white wines.
Their delicate, luminous wines have intense floral bouquets, express freshness and brilliance all throughout the tasting, making for remarkably well-balanced and expressive Rosés.
Favoured by a southern exposure and hillsides, the motto of the Château Sainte Béatrice- "Quality and Tradition" takes its full meaning. With its vines averaging 30 years old, the vineyard hosts a variety of noble grapes including Grenache, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cinsault for reds and rosés; then, Sémillon and Rolle for the whites. Culture faithfully follows the precepts of the past and traditions. The tillage follows the rhythm of the seasons, treatments use the most natural products, pricking and pruning are done manually, as well as part of the harvest. Rosés are made from red Grenache and Cinsault grapes, which are slowly fermented at low temperature (10/12°C) to allows the juice to fully absorb the aromas contained in the grape pulp, without taking too much colour.
The AOC Ventoux vineyard is located in the Vaucluse department, with a part in the Comtat Venaissin. Mont Ventoux dominates Provence with its protective mass.
Its slopes stretch lazily towards the Carpentras plain, with its southern slope home to the vines of the AOC Ventoux. AOC Ventoux enjoys a sun-kissed Mediterranean climate. The blue of the sky is more intense, the fragrances more sublime, colours magnified. The sun shines with all its brilliance between 2700 and 2900 hours per year in Provence. The mistral wind that blows its way along the Rhône Valley; the privileged climate of Provence and the protective mass of Mont Ventoux make the earth of AOC Ventoux a rich combination propitious to producing wines of real character.
Nowadays, there are only 18 Côte de Provence domaines in the world who
are allowed to display the prestigious mention of “Cru classé” on their label.
Domaine du Jas d’Esclans is the only one that is officially certified as Organic.
The Domaine has always prioritised traditional growing methods, and benefits
since 1990 the label of wines issued from organically grown grapes “certified
ECOCERT”. The neat work of the wine as well as the harvesting done entirely by
hand, associated with modern methods of vinification, enable Jas d’Esclans to
produce wines of great quality in conformity with the standard of the “Cru
Maison Française produces a modern and juicy Rosé. Packed into an Estela bottle for a sleek and chic design, its label visually refers to the French vineyards. It is reminiscent of the scrublands and Mediterranean way of life.
Selected within the Languedoc region where the Mediterranean sea effects are noticeable, this Rosé is elegant and well-balanced. The Pyrénées and the Cévennes mountains are embracing the vineyards of the Pays d'Oc appellation in Languedoc Roussillon like an amphitheatre.
The Mediterranean Sea in the south offers hot and dry summers for a perfect maturity. With its salmon pink colour, an elegant nose of red fruit aroma of raspberry, Maison Française offers well balanced rosés with a fruity finish.
Everything begins in 1980 when François Devictor, engineer in farming awarded
a diploma by the ESAP (College of Farming from Purpan) decides to settle down
in Provence to produce great wines. He falls in love at first sight with the
Domaine de la Sanglière in Bormes les Mimosas and guesses at once the
potential this idyllic site represents, located by the sea. With a total surface of 42
hectares, the estate is completely remodeled to meet optimal quality
requirements. A cellar is built. The production of Whites, Rosés and Red wines in
Côtes de Provence appellation can then begin... In the lineage of their father’s
work, it is the wine growers' second generation, Rémy and Olivier Devictor that
manages the estate nowadays.
Maison Tardieu-Laurent was founded in 1994 by Michel Tardieu and Dominique Laurent in Provence. Tardieu has significantly influenced the development and evolution of Rhone wines; with no vineyard property of his own, he chooses the vineyards he likes and agrees to the conditions of viticulture and processing with each of the producers. Thus, its catalog not only includes wines from almost all denominations of Rhone wines made, but all with grapes from old vines, some of the oldest in the area.
All of his wines are produced environmentally friendly and free of chemicals. Tardieu follows the philosophy of minimal intervention, without decanting filtration or cold stabilisation at the time of bottling. This helps to preserve maximum character from each terroir.
